Miguel Saraiva was born in November 15 in 1968 and, in 1995, concluded his degree (Licenciate) in Architecture in University Lusíada, in Lisbon, Portugal. In 1996 he initiated his workshop named Saraiva + Associados (Associates), acting as the CEO of the workshop and as the architecture project main leader. Since its inception, the workshop expanded significantly, and in our days is represented in 10 countries of 4 continents. Miguel Saraiva has been the driver and mentor of this dynanism, being personally envolved in all expansion processes and opening of new offices. Besides the intense activity as the manager and lider architect of the group Saraiva + Associados, Miguel Saraiva was vice-president of the Southern Regional Section of the Architects Association, from 1998 to 2001.
Among other prizes and honorable mentions in the scope of Architecture, Miguel Saraiva received, in 2011, for the Saraiva + Associados, the prize of "Best Architecture Workshop" from the portuguese magazine 'Construir'. In 2013 received from the same publication the prizes of "Best Private Project 2013", with the work Unit of Continued Care Maria José Nogueira Pinto, in Cascais, Portugal, of "Best Workshop 2013", and of "Architecture personality of the Year 2013". Miguel Saraiva is frequently invited to participate as a speaker in lectures, master classes and simposyums in faculties of Architecture of several countries, as well as in workshops and debates about internationalization.
