Eduardo Souto de Moura

Eduardo Souto de Moura was born in Porto (Portugal) in July 25th of 1952.

Graduated in Architectura by Escola Superior de Belas-Artes in Porto in 1980.

Collaborated with architect Noé Dinis in 1974.

Collaborated with architect Álvaro Siza Vieira between 1975 and 1979.

Collaborated with architect Fernandes de Sá between 1979 and 1980.

Between 1981 and 1991 worked as Professor Assistant on Architecture course in FAUP.

Initiate the activity as a professional in 1980.

Was a professor in Paris, Belleville, Harvard, Dublin, Zurich and Lausanne.

Participate in several conferences in Portugal and other countries.

Author of innumerous projects in Portugal, Spain, France and Belgium

Currently, he exerts his activity in Porto.

Souto de Moura received several awards, which stands out:

1992 – Secil Architecture Prize with Casa das Artes; 1995 – Pedra International Prize in Architecture with Casa de Braga – Feira de Verona; 1996 – Annual Prize from Secção Portuguesa da Associação Internacional de Críticos de Arte; 1998 – Prize | Bienal IberoAmericana with Pousada de Santa Maria do Bouro; Prize ‘’Pessoa’’; 2001 – Prize Heinrich-Tessenow-Medal in Gold; 2004 – Secil Architecture Prize with Estádio de Braga; 2005 – FInalist in Pabellón Mies van der Rohe European Architecture Prize with the project of Estádio Municipal de Braga; Gold Medal for Estádio Municipal de Braga – IAKS - International Association for Sports and Leisure Facilities, Alemanha ; 2006 – ‘’FAD ‘’Ciutati Paisage’’ Prize with the project ‘’Metro do Porto’’ ; Portugal ENOR Prize  with the project for Porto’s metro; Gran Prémio Enor” with the project for Porto’s metro.; 2011 – Pritzker Prize; Secil Architecture Prize 2010 with Casa das Histórias Paula Rego; Carreira Enor Prize 2011; 2013- Wolf Prize; “10th Veronica Rudge Green Prize in Urban Design” Prize, U.S.A, with Metro do Porto; 2014- VII Arquitectura e Interiorismo  prize with “Porcelanosa”, Madrid, Espanha.
