BRITO.RODRIGUES is an Architecture workshop in Lisbon, initiated in 2008 by Inês Martins de Brito (Portugal, 1977) and Gilberto Rodriguez (EUA, 1973).
From different cultural origins, they have a common interest in architecture and their interests cross in Spain, while collaborating in the workshop RCR Architects (2002-2004). In 2004, they moved to San Francisco, USA, where colaborated individually with Sagan Piechota Architecture and Jim Jennings Architecture (2004-2008).
The workshop has been receiving national and international recognition with projects with prizes exhibited in Spain, The United States, England, Italy, Mexico, Peru and Portugal.
In 2014 they participated in the anual exhibition of the American Institute of Architects ‘Center for Emerging Professionals Annual Exhibition’, em Washington D.C., EUA, and in 2013 they are invited to participate in the exhibition ‘Portuguese Architecture: Discretion is a New Visibility’, a selection of works of portuguese achitects from the last 20 years, promoted by the Urban Strategy and the Camões Institute in Portugal.
Recently, the workshop organized a conference ‘Subtle Gestures’ em Sapienza – Università di Roma, in Italy, having been‘guest critics’ in UTSA – University of Texas in San Antonio, Texas (USA), in ISCTE, in Lisbon (Portugal), and in University of California, in Berkeley (USA).
Brito.Rodriguez organises anually the International Workshop‘Art . Architecture’ with the aim of promoting a relation and sinergies between several artistic disciplines and the cultural exchange.
